Start with whatever is actually happening.

You do not have to know what it is called, or whether it is bad enough to count. Find the line below that sounds like your week and follow it.

If you are thinking of ending your life, start here — before anything else on this page.

It does not matter which of the situations below brought you here, and you do not have to be certain. These lines are free, they are answered around the clock, and nobody needs your name.

112 0800 111 0 111 116 123

112 in immediate danger. TelefonSeelsorge on 0800 111 0 111, 0800 111 0 222 or 116 123 — free, anonymous, every hour of every day, with chat and mail as well. In the UK and Ireland, 116 123 reaches the Samaritans.

What a call is actually like, what happens if you cannot speak, and how to make tonight survivable: crisis lines and safety planning.

Someone in my home frightens me, or has hurt me.

Violence & abuse — 116 016 around the clock, how injuries get documented without a police report, and why it need not be you who leaves.

The post has stopped being openable, and something is about to be cut off.

Debt & money trouble — free counselling, protecting your account with a P-Konto, and the three-year route to being debt-free.

I cannot get out of bed, and nothing has felt like anything for weeks.

Depression — the one phone call that starts a legal deadline for a therapy appointment, and what to do while you wait.

I am looking after someone, and I am running out.

Caring for someone — the money nobody applies for, ten days off at no notice, and pension contributions paid on your behalf.

I have always worked differently from everyone else, and I am tired of failing at things that look easy.

ADHD and autism — assessment as an adult, what a diagnosis does and does not change, and support that does not require one.

Who I am is the thing that is unsafe — at home, at work, or at the doctor's.

LGBTQIA+ support — counselling that will not make you explain yourself first, and the practical, legal and medical routes.

It is not me. I am frightened for someone else.

Every helpline on these pages counsels relatives, friends and colleagues too — you need no permission from the person and no certainty about what is happening. Start with whichever page above fits them.

More than one of these is true at once.

That is the normal case, not a complication. Debt drives depression, depression ends jobs, violence produces both. Take the one with a deadline attached first — a cut-off date, a court letter, an eviction — and let the rest wait a week.

What these pages are

  • Directories, not advice. Each page lists what exists, what to do first, and which deadlines actually bite. None of it is legal or medical advice, and none of these pages is a crisis service.
  • Every number is checked against the organisation's own site. Not against another directory. Where something could not be confirmed, the page links the organisation instead of printing a number that might be wrong, and says so.
  • Nothing here watches you. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party requests, no fonts loaded from anyone else's server. Nothing about your visit is recorded anywhere — though your own browser still remembers, so use a private window on a shared device.
  • Germany first, then elsewhere. The detail is German because that is what could be verified properly. Each page carries a section for the UK, Ireland and beyond, and every page exists in German too.
  • Take any of it. Copy anything from these pages for your own site, leaflet, noticeboard or group. No attribution needed.
